Temple Run and Bell Family Reunion

First of all, I hate this new format for the blog.  Just had to throw that out there.  Now onto the real post...This past weekend we had a lot of fun in KC!  What started out just being a little gathering for the 5K temple run turned into a big Bell Family Reunion!  So Friday we had a BBQ at Michelle's and then headed to Nick and Colton's to get Brady to bed.  I have to say, he was a trooper!  He stayed up at least an hour past his normal bedtime each night even though he only had one nap a day (when he's used to two), AND he got his shots right before we left. He is such a good kid!
Saturday was the temple run in the morning.  I have been running a lot lately, so I was well prepared, but still kind of nervous since the last 5K I ran was right before I found out I was pregnant with Brady!  Luckily Kendall, Quentin's Mom and Dad watched kids, so I didn't have to push the jogging stroller.  I finished in 27:02!  It was a personal best for me, so it was nice that all my running has paid off.  Quentin miraculously was able to run the whole thing with little (no) preparation in a pretty impressive 33:something.  It kind of makes me sick that he can do it.  It took me forever to even work up to 5K length.  Oh well.  I'm proud of him for running it.

The kiddos (Brady freaks out when he touches grass, but he wouldn't just stand there so we had to make him sit)

After the 5K we all showered, gave the kids naps (and anyone else who was lucky enough got a nap in too) and got ready for the rest of the festivities.  We met the rest of the Bell clan at Famous Daves for lunch/dinner and then headed to the park.  Quentin's cousin, Nathan, graduated high school, so we were celebrating that (with cake and all!) Brady had a blast on the playground even though he was too little to do anything by himself.  It was really fun to see everyone, and hopefully we will do it again soon!

Moving

Well, we signed our lease for the perfect duplex!  It is right behind Brady's daycare, so the location is great.  It comes with a washer/dryer (and dishwasher!), the owner does the lawncare, and the pet deposit is refundable.  The property manager seems super nice too, so we're pretty excited to have some more space.  In less than 3 weeks, this will be our new home...
Pretty cool huh?  I'm getting super excited to not have to share a room with my kid anymore.  And to have more space to put our stuff.  And to be able to do laundry at home.  And have a dishwasher.  I will, of course, miss not paying rent.  And it's kind of nice to live secluded at the Lambs.  There are definitely things I will miss.  Right now I am busy being stressed out trying to get everything ready for the move.  We have a lot to do, but I'm sure we will get it all done.
In other news, Quentin got a clinical sight last minute in Jeff City, which is only a 30 minute drive, so we get to keep him this summer :)  I was beyond excited when he told me the news!  I am pretty sure I would have gone crazy without him.  Also, he is loving the site (St Mary's), and has really been loving the clinical experience as a whole.  It's fun to hear what he sees and is learning.
In other Brady news, (because that's where the real excitement in our lives is!) he is now 15 months!  Can you believe it?  I can't.  He is now running all over the place, saying a few words (and trying his best to copy what we say).  He loves to be outside, balls, eating, watching silly kid shows, bathtime, Butters, books, and pretty much everything except being told "no."  Here are his stats:
Height: 31 1/2 in (73%)
Weight: 22.6 lbs (26%)
Head Circumference 48.6 (88%)
So he's still a tall, skinny boy with a big head :)  And as Lori put it, off the charts cute!

Meeting Makinley

A few weeks ago Kyle called us to see if we wanted to meet them in Jeff City for lunch, so we hurried and got ready and headed that way.  I didn't want to miss a chance to meet my newest niece!  We met at Red Lobster and Alexa did a great job of entertaining Brady while we waited for our food.  After we ate we took the kids to play at the little kid place and Brady loved it!  Even though it was just a quick trip, it was fun to see the LaBrues and, of course, I loved getting some snuggles in with baby Makinley.

Update

What has two thumbs and looks super cute in his summer clothes?  This Guy!
Sorry it's a little blurry, it's sometimes hard to get good pictures of this boy, he is just so busy and runs at the camera when he sees it.  Still cute though.  Thanks for the outfit, Grandma Moore!
In other news, Quentin finally got his sight for clinicals for the summer (yep, just a week away).  He will be spending the summer in St. Charles, MO.  It's about 2 hours away.  So I will be playing single mom for the summer. It's definitely not our first choice for a site, but at this point I think we are all just happy to know where he will be so we can hurry and get things planned.  One more year...
We are also looking for a new place to rent.  We have outgrown our tiny apartment (about 14 months ago actually) and are ready to have our own room.  I don't think sharing your bedroom with your child is an ideal situation for anyone.  We are so excited to have more room and I think it will be a good change for everyone.  We have found a few places we were interested in, but someone always beats us to it.  It's pretty frustrating.  Then today we were supposed to see one and the lady never showed up to meet us.  Too bad the key was in plain sight and we helped ourselves to a peak and decided against it.  Not that we would have rented from someone who can't even show up once, but we had to satisfy our curiosity.  I guess we will find something eventually, I just hope it's soon so I can quit worrying about it!
